Blackout Date: Never Take Orders on Days You Can't Fulfill
The Blackout Dates feature in CX Elevate lets you block those days directly on your store's calendar, so customers only ever see dates you can actually deliver or fulfill.
❓What Are Blackout Dates?
Blackout Dates let you remove specific dates or entire recurring weekdays from the delivery and pickup calendar your customers see at checkout. When you set up blackout dates, your store remains open and customers can continue placing orders. However, they will only be able to pick from delivery or pickup dates when you are actually available and operating.
Common use cases include:
- Public holidays: Christmas, New Year's, national holidays
- Store closures: team off-days, inventory days, annual leave
- Recurring non-working days: for example, always blocking Sundays
- One-off unavailability: a specific date your team can't fulfill orders

đź› FAQ
- Does blocking a date cancel existing orders?
No. Blackout Dates only affect future orders. Any orders already placed for a blocked date remain unchanged. You'll need to handle those manually if needed.
- What do customers see when a date is blocked?
Blocked dates are simply greyed out or hidden on the calendar at checkout. Customers cannot select them and are not shown any error. They just choose from the available dates instead.
- Does this work for both delivery and pickup?
Yes. Blackout Dates apply to both delivery and local pickup scheduling. You configure them in the same Delivery & Pickup Schedule tab.
- How many blackout dates can I add?
There's no stated limit. You can block as many individual dates or recurring weekdays as your operations require.
- Is Blackout Dates available on the Free plan?
No. This feature requires the Pro ($7.99/month) or Elite ($12.99/month) plan. Both plans include a 7-day free trial so you can test it before committing.
